The Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Beaumont is hosting the 48th annual Eagle Lake Rice Field Day on June 28.

The event will start at 4 p.m. at the David R. Wintermann Rice Research Station on Farm-to-Market Road 102, just north of Eagle Lake.

At 5 p.m. there will be an evening program, “Summer Rice Research and Program Update,” at the Eagle Lake Community Center, 100 N. Walnut Ave. A catered meal will be provided at 5:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend.

There will be two general Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units available for licensed pesticide applicators available.

“Area agribusiness continues to provide crucial sponsorship to support this event so that all who are interested in attending can do so free of charge,” said Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture and natural resources agent Laramie Kettler, Colorado County.
