Texas Pecan Prices: Growers Getting Nuts in, Ready for Sale

    This week shows that the Central areas will have nice mild temps in the low 80s cooling to the mid-50s by Monday, December 20, 2021.
    Evenings will be in the mid-60s and cooling down to the mid-40s.

    Growers are taking advantage of the weather to get the pecans in and ready for sale. Lots with Blends (nut count mid-50s) 46-48% meat yield sold for mostly $4.20 per point.

    Prices paid to growers (Tuesday, December 14, 2021 thru late afternoon Thursday, December 16, 2021) at buyers delivery point or F.O.B. the orchard including direct sales to end users, cents per pound in-shell of generally good quality in lots of 20,000 pounds or
    less unless otherwise stated.

    • Cheyenne (deliveries very light) 52-54% meat yield 215 occasional higher, 50% meat yield 195
    • Native/Seedlings (deliveries light) machine harvested 40% meat yield or better 125-150 mostly 125-135, yard tree lots 75-100
    • Mixed Buds (deliveries very light) yard tree lots 70-100 mostly 80-100
