Pre-6 a.m. CDT prices, CME Globex: December corn is up 1 1/4 cents, November soybeans are up 4 3/4 cents and December KC wheat is up 5 1/2 cents.
CME Globex Recap: Early Tuesday, Dow Jones futures are trading a little higher early with the Labor Department set to release its consumer price index for August at 7:30 a.m. CDT. Hurricane Nicholas made landfall in southeastern Texas early Tuesday as a category one storm and is expected to bring heavy rainfall to southern Louisiana.
OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 261.91 at 34,869.63 and the S&P 500 up 10.15 at 4,468.73 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.32%. Early Tuesday, September Dow Jones futures are trading up 37 points.
Asian markets are x with Japan’s Nikkei 225 index up 0.73% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index down 1.4%. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.24%, spot futures of Germany’s DAX trading up 0.17% and spot futures of France’s CAC Index trading down 0.40%.
The December euro is down $0.0011 at $1.1804. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.06 at 92.65. The December 30-year T-bond is down 9/32nds, while December gold is down $4.60 at $1,789.80 and October crude oil is up $0.51 at $70.96.
On China’s Dalian exchange, January corn was down 0.4%, November soybeans were unchanged, January soybean meal was up 0.2% and January soybean oil was down 0.7%. September common wheat on China’s Zhengzhou exchange was unchanged. November Malaysian palm oil is trading up 0.6%.
