Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: July corn is up 5 1/4 cents, July soybeans are up 6 cents and July KC wheat is down 4 1/4 cents.
CME Globex Recap: Early Thursday, Dow Jones futures are trading higher with European markets mixed. There has been nervousness among investors about rising inflation so Thursday morning’s 7:30 a.m. CDT reports on jobless claims and May consumer prices will be watched closely.
Late Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reported JBS paid criminal hackers an $11 million ransom in bitcoin to prevent further damage at its plants.
OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 152.68 at 34,447.14 and the S&P 500 down 7.71 at 4,219.55 as the 10-Year Treasury yield dropped to 1.49%. Early Thursday, June Dow Jones futures are trading up 77 points.
Asian markets are higher with Japan’s Nikkei 225 index up 0.34% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index up 0.54%. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.27%, spot futures of Germany’s DAX trading down 0.06% and spot futures of France’s CAC Index trading down 0.21%.
The June euro is down $0.0011 at $1.2170. The June U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.07 at 90.19. The June 30-year T-bond is down 5/32nds, while August gold is down $11.00 at $1,884.50 and July crude oil is up $0.01 at $69.97.
On China’s Dalian exchange, September corn was up 0.9%, July soybeans were down 0.9%, September soybean meal was down 0.3% and September soybean oil was down 0.9%. July common wheat on China’s Zhengzhou exchange was unchanged. August Malaysian palm oil is trading up 0.9%.
