DTN Grain Close: Old-Crop Corn Higher, Old-Crop Soybeans Lower After USDA Report

July corn closed up 8 1/4 cents Thursday, finding confirmation from USDA that old-crop supplies are tighter than previously estimated. Old-crop soybeans ended lower, responding to a lower crush estimate in Thursday’s WASDE report.

GENERAL COMMENTS:

July corn closed up 8 1/4 cents and December corn was up 6 3/4 cents. July soybeans closed down 18 1/2 cents and November soybeans were up 11 1/4 cents. July KC wheat closed up 4 1/2 cents, July Chicago wheat was up 1 1/2 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was up 11 1/4 cents.

The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.05 at 90.07. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 90.40 points at 34,537.54. August gold is up $2.60 at $1,898.10, July silver is up $0.08 at $28.08 and July copper is down $0.0410. July crude oil is up $0.27 at $70.23, July heating oil is up $0.0126, July RBOB gasoline is up $0.0085 and July natural gas is up $0.018.
