DTN Grain Open: Markets Up, Brazil Remains Dry

    Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: July corn is up 15 cents, July soybeans are up 13 cents and July KC wheat is up 9 1/2 cents.

    CME Globex Recap: Early Monday, Dow Jones futures are trading higher as earnings reports have been mostly supportive. Indices of manufacturing activity in March showed expansion in Australia, much of Asia, excluding Myanmar and Philippines, much of Europe and even in India. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will speak about the economy later Monday.

    OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 185.51 at 33,874.85 and the S&P 500 down 30.30 at 4,181.17 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.63%. Early Friday, June Dow Jones futures are up 143 points.

    Asian markets are closed Monday through Wednesday this week. European markets are slightly lower, but markets in the U.K. are closed. Spot futures of Germany’s DAX trading down 0.16% and spot futures of France’s CAC Index trading down 0.12%.

    The June euro is up $0.0030 at $1.2062. The June U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.13 at 91.15. The June 30-year T-bond is down 16/32nds, while June gold is up $9.00 at $1,776.70 and June crude oil is down $0.08 at $63.50. June Malaysian palm oil is trading up 4.7%.
