An Estate Planning Seminar featuring Tiffany Dowell Lashmet, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture law specialist, Amarillo, will be held March 2.

The in-person event will be in The Event Center, 622 E. D Ave., Spearman, hosted by the AgriLife Extension offices in Hutchinson and Hansford counties. The fee is $10, and a meal will be served. The event is jointly sponsored by First National Bank-Spearman and Plains Land Bank.

To register, contact AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agents Kristy Slough, Hutchinson County, 806-878-4026, or Matt Whitely, Hansford County, 806-659-4130, by Feb. 28.

Advanced registration is needed to allow for preparation for mandatory social distancing. Also, due to COVID-19 protocols, masks will be required, and attendees will be asked to fill out a COVID screening form upon arrival.

“We are excited to have Tiffany,” Slough said. “Her estate planning seminar presentations are some of the most sought after in the state, and we are fortunate to have her here in person.”

Estate planning can be an emotional and sensitive time for people in a later stage of life, and Lashmet offers a working list of planning steps that can help with the whole process necessary to pass property to the next generation.
