Fusarium head blight management session on Dec. 9
As part of the virtual 2020 National Fusarium Head Blight forum, Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) continuing education units (CEUs) are available during the Fusarium Head Blight management session on Dec. 9, 2020, from 2-4 p.m. Two credits in the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) category are available.
The session will feature four topics and speakers:
- Influence of application equipment on deposition of fungicides in wheat canopy by Erdal Ozkan, Ohio State University
- Fungicide and integrated management of head scab and vomitoxin in wheat with emphasis on Miravis Ace, by Pierce Paul, Ohio State University
- A seven-year review of fungicide and integrated management trials in spring barley by Andrew Friskop, North Dakota State University
- Local malting barley for northeast craft beverage markets: What’s fusarium head blight got to do with it? by Gary Bergstrom, Cornell University
Crop Protection Network offers IPM category CCA continuing education credits year round
The Crop Protection Network is pleased to announce CCAs will now have the opportunity to obtain CEUs under the IPM category through the Crop Protection Network in the form of educational quizzes. A total of 19 quizzes are currently available and are each based on Crop Protection Network publications covering areas such as diseases and management, pest resistance and mycotoxins.
After reading Crop Protection Network publications, CCAs can take the corresponding quiz for 0.5 CEUs simply by entering their names and CCA number and starting the exam. Participants must earn a passing score of 70% or more on a quiz to qualify for credits. Results will be sent monthly to the American Society for Agronomy for processing, and participants will be presented with a certificate for their records.
Participants can take these quizzes at no cost, either through a dedicated webpage or as a link with corresponding publications. Each quiz was written and reviewed by CCAs and Extension specialists for difficulty and accuracy.
CCA participants must earn a passing score of 70% or more on a quiz to qualify for credits. Results are transmitted to the American Society for Agronomy at the end of each month for processing and participants will be presented with a certificate for their records.
