Peanut stocks reported in commercial storage on June 30, 2019 totaled 2.79 billion pounds of equivalent farmer stock, compared with 2.98 billion pounds a year ago. This total includes 1.98 billion pounds of actual farmer stock.
Shelled peanuts on hand totaled 767 million pounds of farmer stock equivalent. Roasting stock totaled 42.9 million pounds.
Shelled peanut stocks totaled 576 million pounds of which 554 million pounds were edible grades and 22.9 million pounds were oil stocks. Edible grade stocks by type included 86.0 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 407 million pounds of Runners, and 60.4 million pounds of Spanish.
Millings in June totaled 365 million pounds. Millings by type were 45.0 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 311 million pounds of Runners, and 9.31 million pounds of Spanish.
Commercial processors utilized 200 million pounds of shelled edible grade peanuts during June. Utilization by type was 112 million pounds for all peanut butter products, 37.5 million pounds for peanut candy, and 41.4 million pounds for peanut snacks. Crushing for oil and cake and meal totaled 43.4 million pounds during the month.
Deliveries under the Government Domestic Feeding and Child Nutrition Programs amounted to 2.83 million pounds of peanut butter and 181,440 pounds of roasted peanuts during June.
Stocks of treated seed on hand June 30, 2019 totaled 8.80 million pounds, compared with 14.9 million pounds on May 31, 2019. Of the June total, 2.09 million pounds were Virginias and Valencias, 5.39 million pounds were Runners, and 1.32 million pounds were Spanish. May stocks of treated seed included 3.36 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 10.2 million pounds of Runners, and 1.34 million pounds of Spanish.
