Kubota Corporation announced today that it will align with Buhler Industries Inc. to develop a new series of larger tractors. Buhler, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, manufactures Versatile tractors.

“Kubota has chosen to take this direction with a view toward improving development lead time and optimizing product specifications to meet local requirements,” according to a press release.

The relationship allows Kubota to utilize “the development and production capabilities of Buhler.”

Kubota will be able to add tractors with horsepower ranges above 170-hp, which is the largest engine size in its current product line. The relationship will accelerate Kubota’s large tractor business in the North American market, the release stated.

New large tractors built under the agreement “have been customized exclusively for Kubota through the company’s engineering expertise for ease of operation and functional design.”

The new models will be launched in the United States and Canada in the second half of 2019, the company stated.

Kubota’s U.S. operations are based in Grapevine, Texas.
