Louisiana Pecan Prices: Growers Accumulating Nuts for Later Sales

Weather forecast for the week shows mild temps with rain early next week and evening lows in the low 40s to mid-50s and daytime highs in the low-50s to low-70s.

Most growers are working on accumulating their pecans, getting the moisture out, and pulling out the black rot and blowouts to sell later this month. Retail sales are doing well and domestic sales are very slow.

Prices paid to growers (late afternoon December 11, 2018 thru late afternoon December 18, 2018) at buyers delivery point or F.O.B. the orchard including direct sales to end users, cents per pound in-shell of generally good quality in lots of 20,000 pounds or less unless otherwise stated.
