Louisiana Pecan Prices: Embryo, Black Rots Causing Concern

Weather forecast for the week show mild temps with evenings in the low 40s warming up with rain on Friday and cooling again early next week. Daytime highs in the 60s and mid-70s cooling on Monday, November 26th.

Moisture along with embryo rot and black rot are of concern right now bringing the overall percentage yields down along with prices.

Prices paid to growers (late afternoon November 13, 2018 thru late afternoon November 20, 2018) at buyers delivery point or F.O.B. the orchard including direct sales to end users, cents per pound in-shell of generally good quality in lots of 20,000 pounds or less unless otherwise stated.
