Virginia Cotton: Low Pressure Coastal System

Rainfall amounts have been lowered by the updated forecast. The highest numbers I am seeing is around 3.5 inches and the overall expectation is around 2″ to 3″.  This whole thing could be over soon after midnight.

  • Gusty wind justifies putting some water jugs on the sides of the module covers which should take care of loosing some module tops in modules out in the open.
  • Wind direction will be out of the South East this afternoon changing to the northwest as it ends. Heavest winds are expected after most of the rain has past.
  • Rain is expected again next Monday or Tuesday so finding favorable defoliation weather could take a while to finish up this crop.
  • Right now, I would look out to the end of next week as a possibility.
