DTN, which provides news and weather information in the ag market, announced today that it will acquire Weather Decision Technologies, Inc. (WDT).
“Bringing together DTN’s weather division with WDT’s operations will allow us to provide even more impactful weather information, insights and,” said DTN Chief Science Officer Ron Sznaider. “We are excited by the opportunity to enhance DTN’s weather expertise and expand our reach into new markets through this acquisition.”
WDT serves a number of markets, including agriculture. Headquartered in Norman, Oklahoma, WDT employs more than 80, including more than 40 degreed meteorologists. DTN is based in Minneapolis, with 18 offices globally also works across a number of industries, including agriculture.

This will uniquely enable us to provide accurate weather forecasts and analytics-based decision-support tools that improve our customers’ operations.”
The WDT acquisition represents DTN’s second weather-centric acquisition in the last 12 months.
