Texas: Private Pesticide Training, Uvalde, Aug. 21

A Texas Department of Agriculture private pesticide applicator license training for individuals to purchase “restricted use pesticides” will be held Aug. 21 in Uvalde.

The training, conducted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Leona Room of the Uvalde County Fairplex, 215 Veterans Lane.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., with donuts and coffee provided.

“This training will allow private pesticide applicators to use products such as 2, 4-D, Grazon P+D, Tordon 22K and others,” said Samantha Korzekwa, AgriLife Extension agent for agriculture and natural resources, Uvalde County. “However, this is not a class for TDA continuing education units.”

The cost of the training and associated manuals is $20, and attendees must purchase training manuals before the training. For more information on buying the manuals, go here and follow the directions.

Attendees must RSVP by Aug. 17 to the AgriLife Extension office for Uvalde County at 830-278-6661.They can also call that number for further information on the training.
