Peanut stocks reported in commercial storage on April 30, 2018 totaled 3.78 billion pounds of equivalent farmer stock, compared with 2.67 billion pounds a year ago. This total includes 2.91 billion pounds of actual farmer stock.
Shelled peanuts on hand totaled 813 million pounds of farmer stock equivalent. Roasting stock totaled 60.1 million pounds.
Shelled peanut stocks totaled 611 million pounds of which 586 million pounds were edible grades and 25.4 million pounds were oil stocks. Edible grade stocks by type included 106 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 425 million pounds of Runners, and 55.0 million pounds of Spanish.
Millings in April totaled 440 million pounds. Millings by type were 92.6 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 316 million pounds of Runners, and 31.1 million pounds of Spanish.
Commercial processors utilized 191 million pounds of shelled edible grade peanuts during April. Utilization by type was 103 million pounds for all peanut butter products, 31.2 million pounds for peanut candy, and 46.5 million pounds for peanut snacks. Crushing for oil and cake and meal totaled 46.2 million pounds during the month.
Deliveries under the Government Domestic Feeding and Child Nutrition Programs amounted to 2.22 million pounds of peanut butter and 25,920 pounds of roasted peanuts during April.

Stocks of treated seed on hand April 30, 2018 totaled 38.8 million pounds, compared with 23.1 million pounds on March 31, 2018. Of the April total, 8.43 million pounds were Virginias and
Valencias, 29.6 million pounds were Runners, and 828,000 pounds were Spanish. March stocks of treated seed included 5.97 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 16.6 million pounds of Runners, and 507,000 pounds of Spanish.
