Little did the the Wright sisters of DeKalb, New York know their music video performance among the family dairy cows would go viral.
The girls made the video for #DairyDanceOff, which was started to draw attention to hard times for dairy operators due to falling commodity prices in the industry. The girls are Madisyn Wright, 14, Bailey Wright, 12, and Peyton Wright, 8. With the help of a few farm tools, and their mother’s video skills, the girls sing and dance to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin”.
The video really gained traction when it was shared by Agriland, an agricultural news portal in Ireland. John Wright told the Watertown Daily Times “Right now, the dairy industry is in a crisis,” Mr. Wright said. “This Dairy Dance Off was kind of designed to bring positivity to a negative time, that’s all it was for. We don’t want the story to be three little girls who went viral and that’s it. We want it to be three little girls who went viral with a message.”
