This week’s webinar will feature Dr. Alvaro Durand-Morat, Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness at the University of Arkansas. He will give an overview of the International Rice Outlook for the next ten years.
The International Rice Outlook developed by the Arkansas Global Rice Economics Program contains updated baseline rice projections for U.S. and international rice economies as of January 2018. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the current state and the expected directions of the rice economies in the world by assessing their potential supply and demand paths over the next decade.

About the presenter: Dr. Alvaro Durand-Morat is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness at the University of Arkansas. Before joining the University of Arkansas, he was a policy and economic advisor to the rice industry in Argentina. He has a B.S. in agricultural engineering, a M.Sc. degree in agricultural economics, and a Ph.D. in public policy. Dr. Durand-Morat specializes in agricultural trade, grain economics with emphasis on rice, and food policy.
