Deliveries by growers to delivery points were very light. Demand was fairly good for good quality pecans. Natives are currently being harvested. Harvesting is expected to remain light, and most are finishing up harvesting for the season. Harvested quality has been variable.
Demand was fairly good for the retail and gift pack trade. Buyers have been making purchases from other production areas or are waiting for additional availability of pecans.
The weather forecast for the next week calls for a wide range in temperatures, with lows ranging from the low 10s to low 60s, and highs ranging from the upper 20s to low 70s. There is a chance of precipitation in most regions of the state from Friday, January 19 through Sunday, January 21, with as high as an 80 percent chance in some areas.
