Monsanto asked a judge Tuesday to prevent Arkansas from enforcing proposed restrictions on how and when farmers can apply dicamba herbicide.

Monsanto asked a Pulaski County, Arkansas, judge to issue a preliminary injunction blocking state regulators from banning dicamba restrictions while the company challenges the tighter usage regulations laid out by Arkansas Plant Board last month.

The regulations would ban dicamba’s use from April 16 through October 31. The limitations are scheduled for review by a legislative committee next week. Monsanto also is asking the judge to block enforcement of a previous rule restricting its dicamba use.
