Oklahoma Pecans: Moderate Demand, Highly Variable Quality

Pecan harvesting was moderate to active with dry and above average temperatures favorable. Marketing statewide mostly moderate to active with deliveries by growers to buying points mostly moderate to active. Sheller demand mostly moderate through the week. Highly variable quality of offerings continues to be a major concern for buyers. Low yielding offerings are showing up in all areas and demand for these is limited.

The weather forecast this week calling for highs in low 60s to upper 40s and lows in mid 30s to mid 20s.

Prices paid to growers (noon Tuesday, November 28, 2017 to noon Tuesday, December 05, 2017) at buyers delivery points or F.O.B. the orchard including direct sales to end users, cents per pound, in-shell of generally good quality in lots of 20,000 pounds or less unless otherwise stated.
