The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) is now accepting nominations for the 2018 4R Advocate program. The program recognizes farmers and retailers who excel at implementing the 4R Nutrient Stewardship principles of applying the right nutrient source at the right time, in the right place and at the right rate.
Winners will receive an all expense paid trip to the 2018 Commodity Classic, February 27 through March 1, 2018, in Anaheim, California. They will also be recognized during an exclusive TFI awards banquet during the Classic. Now in its 7th year, the 4R Advocate Program has recognized a total of 60 growers and retailers who farm 144,425 acres in 17 states.
Nominations are due by October 31 and are easily submitted by clicking this link. Ag retailers can work with growers to complete the forms with information about how they implement the 4R practices.
“4R Advocates help us share the story of why it is important to use 4Rs and how they benefit farmers,” said Lara Moody, TFI’s vice president of stewardship and sustainability. “Our advocates demonstrate what using the 4Rs looks like and can show firsthand the tangible benefits the practices provide.”
