California Almonds: What To Do After The Last Nut Leaves The Field

During an upcoming field day, two University of California Cooperative Extension farm advisors will give almond growers tips about managing orchards after this season’s harvest. The event is set for October 9 in Los Banos.

  • UCCE Merced County pomologist David Doll of UCCE will cover fall and winter practices to reduce disease.
  • Dr. Jhalendra Rijal will talk about insect pest management for the dormant period.

The free event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at the corner of Mercy Springs Road and Cotton Gin Road.
