Alabama: East-Central Crop Tour, Auburn, July 27

The East Central Alabama Crops Tour is set for July 27, beginning at 8 a.m. The tour starts at the Auburn University cotton and peanut variety trial on the Ingram Farm off Highway 80.

Presentations will be made at that stop by Trey Cutts, Extension Cotton Specialist, Ron Smith, Extension Entomologist, Kris Balkcom, peanut specialist, and Austin Hagan, Plant Pathologist.

The next stop will be at Milstead Gin. Topics include an overview on new planter technology, with demonstrations. Other subjects are on the agenda, including moisture sensors, weed control and a wheat update.

Presenters will include Brenda Ortiz, Precision Ag Specialist, Kathy Flanders, Extension Entomologist, and Steve Li, Extension Weed Scientist, Representatives of John Deere and Vantage South speak, as well.
