Florida: Peanut Field Day, Marianna, Aug. 17

The annual Peanut Field Day will be held at the Marianna North Florida Research and Education Center (NFREC) on Thursday, August 17, 2017 starting with registration at 7:45 AM (CDT) and ending with a sponsored lunch at the nearby Sunland Pavilion.

CEUs will be available at registration. This event has been approved for Florida pesticide CEUs (up to four), Georgia pesticide CEUs, and Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) CEUs.

Florida: Up to four from list: 1 Core, 2 Private, 2 Ag Row Crop, 1 Demo and Research
Georgia: Commercial (category 21- Agricultural Plant), Private
CCA: Credits

Field tours will begin promptly at 8:30 AM. Tour groups will rotate through seven tour stops. Topics to be addressed include insect and disease management, herbicide use, crop production, fertility, and variety updates.

Speakers include Mike Mulvaney (UF/IFAS),  Nick Dufault (UF/IFAS) Ethan Carter (UF/IFAS Extension), Barry Tillman (UF/IFAS), Jay Ferrell (UF/IFAS), David Wright (UF/IFAS), Mark Abney (UGA), and Albert Culbreath (UGA).

Reminder – Sunland’s Policies do not allow children under the age of 18 on their grounds.

, take Exit #142 (State Road 71, Marianna). Go north on SR-71 for approximately 2 miles. Turn left onto US-90, heading west. Go about 3 miles, then take SR-71 where the road branches off to the right. Follow SR-71 north for about 6 miles. The Center is on the left.
