Farmers and media are invited to a day of fresh insights and first hand field experiences during RiceTec’s Arkansas Field Day. This event will include field tours, presentations by rice industry experts, vendors and exhibitions of new experimental seeds – all with the goal of providing farmers with progressive methods and products to enable the most successful and sustainable yields.
The event will be held Wednesday, August 3, at the RiceTec Arkansas Business Center, 15329 Hwy 1, Harrisburg, Arkansas 72432.
During the field tour stops, attendees will be presented with information on state-of-the-art herbicide technologies, irrigation methods and water efficiency, nitrogen and weed management, carbon credits, planting dates and nitrogen definition trials, and the results of yield trials of the company’s new hybrids.
The indoor portion of the program will include presentations by three authorities from the rice industry, highlighting some of the challenges and successes farmers and the industry are currently balancing.
- Bill Reed, VP of Public Affairs from Riceland Foods will provide updates on
the latest news concerning agriculture policy legislation.
- Dr. Merle Anders of Net Profit Crop Consultancy will speak on the topic of sustainable rice production programs.
- Mike Gumina, Global CEO of RiceTec, will discuss issues related to grain quality and sustainability.
In addition, RiceTec will showcase its new Clearfield hybrid, RT7311 CL, which offers a new standard in yield, combined with the superior RiceTec product disease package, improved grain retention and ratoon potential. Several more experimental hybrids, anticipated to be released on a limited basis in 2017, will also be displayed for farmer consideration.
Industry vendors will participate, including Ag Lenders and John Deere Financial, and companies, Ducks Unlimited, USA Rice Federation, Valent and Valley View Agri-Systems will be on hand to exhibit and answer questions about their products and services.
