Diesel: Average Prices Drop, Especially In Midwest

    The U.S. average price of diesel fuel decreased five cents from last week to $2.28 per gallon, $1.00 per gallon lower than a year ago.

    Prices declined in all regions of the nation, with both the Midwest and Rocky Mountain prices seven cents less than last week, at $2.23 per gallon and $2.30 per gallon, respectively. The East and West Coast prices decreased five cents, to $2.32 per gallon and $2.51 per gallon, respectively. On the Gulf Coast, the price declined three cents to $2.18 per gallon.
