Texas Corn Producers will host an Advanced Training for Agricultural Professionals program in Fort Worth, Texas, September 7-9. The program is designed for farmers and agribusiness professionals of all ages, but should be of particular interest for those that have recently returned to the farm or are looking at increasing the size of their operation.

The tools farmers will gain from attending this event will prepare them to strategically plan for the maintenance and further development of their farm to have a successful business. Space for this event is limited. Registration is $100 per person and includes meals as listed on the program, which is available online here. This event is open to all interested parties and is not exclusive to corn farmers.

“This event features some of the nation’s most renowned financial minds,” TCP Executive Director David Gibson says. “Texas Corn Producers hopes farmers and others in agriculture take advantage of this opportunity to listen and interact with

some of the industry’s best economists. Bringing the tools from this program back

to the farm offers an invaluable opportunity for success.”

The event’s topics include:

  • Best Management Practices – Danny Klinefelter, Texas A&M University and AgriLife Extension
  • Strategic Planning and Megatrends – David Kohl, Agricultural Finance and Small Business Management at Virginia Tech
  • University Strategic Management – Allan Gray, Agricultural Economics at Purdue University
  • Strategic Positioning – Michael Boehlje, Agricultural Economics at Purdue University

“What makes this program unique is that the attendees will largely determine the flow of the pertinent issues and topics to be delved into,” Dee Vaughan, a TCP board member and farmer from Dumas, says. “Farmers will have the opportunity to interact with the speakers and really look at how the information being provided can apply to their farm.”
