Mississippi: Sustainability Training Workshop, West Point, Nov. 17

The Mississippi State University Extension Service invites producers interested in protecting natural resources on their land to attend an upcoming conservation landowner workshop.

The Sustainability Training in Agricultural Resources Systems workshop on Nov. 17 will show landowners how the federal farm bill administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture can help them manage their farms more sustainably and save money.

Biologists, conservationists and MSU Extension agents will share information on conservation benefits and assistance programs that help landowners manage their land for wildlife, forestry and agriculture. Attendees will also meet producers who have successfully integrated conservation practices into their production systems.

The free workshop will be held at 3990 Old Vinton Road in West Point. It begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m.

To register, call B.J. McClenton, MSU Extension agent in Clay County, at 662-494-5371, or Reid Nevins, MSU Extension agent in Lowndes County, at 662-328-2111.

Support for the workshop is provided by the MSU Extension Service in collaboration with the Southern Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program.
