Southwest Alabama Stored Grain Workshop, Atmore, July 18

Grain farmers should make plans to attend the Southwest Alabama Stored Grains Workshop that will be held July 18, 2017 at Shelly Farms in Atmore, Alabama.  This will be a hands on workshop on grain drying, automated bin management systems, and stored grain integrated pest management (IPM).

Registration is free, but please PRE-REGISTER by contacting Kim Wilkins, Regional Extension Agent, Alabama Cooperative Extension System. She can be reached at 251-937-7176 or 334-869-0582 or email wilkikj@aces.edu.  The meeting will be held from from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM with a sponsored lunch. Pesticide re-certification points and Certified Crop Adviser Points will be available.

Directions to Shelly Farms: 

To get to these grain bins, you will get off at the Atmore exit of I-65.  This will be Highway 21 and also the Windcreek Casino Exit.  When you get off I-65, you will head towards the casino.  You will turn beside the casino on to Poarch Road.

After you get on Poarch Road you will travel about 2.25 miles.  You will see Bell Creek Road on your left.  Turn to your left on Bell Creek Road.  You will see the grain bins after you turn.
