    DTN Livestock Close: Futures Move Lower

    Live cattle futures closed 22 to 117 lower Friday; feeder futures were 35 to 100 lower. Lean hog futures were 5 to 60 lower.

     GENERAL COMMENTS:

    From Friday to Friday livestock futures scored the following changes: Jun LC, Off .05, Aug LC, Off .30; Aug FC, Off 1.28; Sep FC, Off .55; Jun LH, Up .82; Jul LH, Off 2.12. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed $2.52 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement ($115.00 to $126.00, weighted average $122.78). Corn futures closed higher, up 2 3/4 in the July, up 4 in the September and up 4 1/2 in the December.
