The Spring Crop Update Meeting will held Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 8:45 a.m. through lunch at the MCC Annex of the Ricks Memorial Library on corner of Washington and Powell Streets in Yazoo City.
The program is being sponsored by Regions Bank, Bunge Corporation and the Mississippi State University Extension Service.
Registration at 8:45 with program starting at 9.
Presentations will be made by John Michael Riley, MSU Ag Econ; Rachel Evans, NRCS Delta Conservation Demonstration Farm; Lyle Pringle, Ag Engineer with Delta Research and Extension Center; Ernie Flint, MSU Extension Area Agronomist; and Billy Kingrey, Professor of Agronomy, MSU Department of Plant and Soil Sciences.
Objective of this meeting: To present topics that are not usually included at grower meetings. We hope to offer ideas that will lead to more efficient use of soil and water resources, and that will contribute to improved sustainability in crop production. We also plan to have a good lunch for the participants.
We request that you call and tell us you plan to attend the meeting so that we will have an estimate for the food; but if you decide to come that day then don’t let this prevent you.
Call the Yazoo Extension Office at 662-746-2453 or Ernie Flint at 662-582-1211.

We provide early warnings and confirmations about pests, diseases and other factors that influence yield. Our goal is to quickly provide farmers and crop advisors with information needed to make better and more profitable decisions.
